How we source listings

OpenStreetMap (OSM)

We use OpenStreetMap as a discovery layer for places that are already mapped by contributors under the Open Database License (ODbL). OSM helps us find candidates quickly; coverage varies by category and neighborhood. New OSM-derived rows may appear as preview listings until our team or the business confirms details.

Public directories and curated imports

We may supplement the directory with factual business information drawn from publicly available websites, member directories, or other lawful public sources. LocallyBot is not partnered with chambers of commerce, employers, universities, or media outlets unless we publish a separate announcement saying otherwise. If you operate a directory or listing site and have questions about how public data is used, contact admin@huddlestack.com. We deduplicate carefully so the same storefront is not shown as multiple conflicting cards. Nothing here is legal advice — if you are unsure whether a particular source may be used, consult counsel.

Owners and applications

The most authoritative source is always the business itself. Owners can claim listings, correct hours and photos, and manage their presence from the owner dashboard after verification.

Trust badges on listings

LocallyBot uses clear badges so you can tell how much a listing has been checked:

• Unclaimed — Added from OpenStreetMap, public directories, or other lawful sources. The owner has not claimed it yet. Details may be incomplete — use Remove my listing if it should not appear.
• Verified — The business claimed the listing and LocallyBot completed an identity review. Hours, photos, and contact info are owner-maintained.
• Pickup orders — The owner verified the listing phone and passed pickup-order checks (including a probation period for new owners). Customers can place pickup orders when the menu is enabled.

Accuracy and removal

We do not guarantee that every field is complete or current. If something is wrong or should not be listed, use Remove my listing or see Terms of Use — listing sourcing and removal. Good-faith removal and correction requests are handled as promptly as practical — usually within a few business days, depending on verification load and complexity.
